Chicken Jalfrezi

Jalfrezi is a curry dish which contains meat, fish, paneer or vegetables as its main ingredient. It is a thick curry goes well with naan, roti and rice.

Now I am going to share the recipe using chicken as my main ingredient. Please do try it and enjoy !!

Ingredients:

Servings: 5
Cooking time : 30 mins

1. Chicken - 500 gms

2. Onion ( chopped fine) - 2 medium sized

3. Tomato ( chopped fine) - 2 medium sized

4. Capsicum (chopped as square cubes) - 1

5. Garlic (chopped ) - 5 to 6 big cloves 

6. Cumin seeds - 1 tbsp.

7. Ginger garlic paste - 3/4 tsp

8. Chilli powder - 1&1/2 tsp

9. Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp

10. Coriander powder - 1&1/2 tsp

11. Kashmiri chilli powder - 1 tbsp.

12. Garam masala - 1/2 tsp

13. Coriander leaves ( chopped ) - as required

14. Salt - as required

15. Oil - 6 tbsp.

Method of preparation:

1. In a pan add oil, garlic and cumin seeds. Sauté for 1 min.
2. Add onion and ginger garlic paste. Sauté for 1 min.
3. Add chicken pieces and sauté until it becomes white. 
4. Add capsicum to it. Mix and cook it for 5 mins. The capsicum must be cooked half way.
5. Add tomatoes and mix everything together. Cook for 3 mins.
6. Add all the spice powders (Chilli powder, Coriander powder, Kashmiri chilli powder, Garam masala, Salt). 
7.Mix everything together until raw smell of the masalas goes off (No need to add water since the chicken already releases water).
8. Close the pan and cook until everything cooked and oil comes out separately.
9. Garnish with chopped coriander leaves and serve!!!
