Quick tomato sambar

Tomato sambar is one of the common recipe which we prepare in our home as common for idli, dosa, etc.
It is very tasty and easy to make.

Ingredients:
Cooking time : 20 mins
Servings : 6
1. Oil - 1/2 tsp
2. Mustard seeds - 1/2 tsp
3. Urad dal - 1/2 tsp
4. Chana dal - 1/2tsp
5. Shallots (chopped) - 1/4 cup
6. Curry leaves - few
7. Coriander leaves (chopped) - 2 tbsp
8. Coconut (grated) - 3/4 cup
9. Roasted gram dal - 4 tbsp
10. Cinnamon stick - 1/2 inch
11. Cloves - 2
12. Fennel seeds - 1/2 tsp
13. Coriander seeds - 1&1/2 tsp
14. Pepper corns - 3/4 tsp
15. Poppy seeds - 1/4 tsp
16. Tomatoes (roughly chopped) - 2no.
17. Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
18. Chilli powder - 3/4 tsp
19. Salt - as required 
20. Garlic (crushed) - 2no.

Method of preparation:
1. In a mixer, take coconut, roasted gram dal, coriander seeds, pepper corns, cinnamon stick, cloves, fennel seeds and poppy seeds.
2. Add water and grind it. Make a coarse paste. 
3. Add garlic, tomatoes to it and grind again. The paste should not be so smooth. 
4. Add turmeric powder, chilli powder to it.
5. In a pan take oil and tempering ingredients( mustard seeds, urad dal, chana dal).
6. Wait until the mustard seeds start crackling.
7. Add onion, curry leaves and coriander leaves. Sauté for a minute.
8. Add grinded things and water to it.( It should be very watery).
9. Add salt and allow to boil in a high flame.
10. Wait until it becomes frothy and reduce it to medium flame. 
11. Continue to cook until the raw smell goes off and it reaches the perfect consistency.
12. The oil starts separating at last from the top.
