Palak paneer restaurant style

Palak paneer is a famous North Indian recipe which goes well with roti and rice. It is basically a spinach recipe which is loaded with nutrients and antioxidants. 

In this post I am going to share a perfect paneer recipe in restaurant style.

Ingredients:
Cooking time : 30 mins
Servings : 5
1. Spinach leaves(palak) - 1 bunch
2. Onion ( medium - chopped ) - 2
3. Tomato ( chopped ) - 2
4. Garlic ( chopped ) - 2 big cloves
5. Ginger ( chopped ) - 1 inch
6. Cumin seeds - 1 tsp
7. Green chillies - 2
8. Chilli powder - 1/2 tsp
9. Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
10. Coriander powder - 1 tsp
11. Garam masala - 1/2 tsp
12. Paneer ( chopped )  - 200 gms
13.  Cream - 2 tbsp. + 1 tbsp.(for garnish)
14. Butter - 2 tbsp.
15. Kasoori methi ( dried fenugreek leaves ) - 1 tbsp.
16. Sugar - 1 tsp

Method of preparation:
1. Boil water with a tbsp. of salt in it. 
2. Once the water boiled, add spinach leaves and cook for two mins.
3. Strain the water when the spinach leaves starts wilting.
4. Grind the spinach leaves along with green chillies to a smooth texture and keep separately.

5. In a pan add oil, cumin seeds. Let it splutter.
6. Add ginger and garlic. Sauté for a minute.
7. Add onion and tomato. Sauté until the tomato becomes mushy.

8. Let it cool down and transfer to the mixer. Grind it smooth and keep separately.
9. In a pan add butter. Once it melted, add grinded tomato mixture to it.
10. Add all spice powders (chilli powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder, cumin powder, garam masala) to it. Mix everything together and cook for two mins.
11. Add spinach puree, sugar and salt. Add about 1/2 cup water if its so thick in consistency. (Sugar balances the taste very well.. Don't miss it!!!).
12. Let it cook for 2 mins.
13. Add cream, paneer cubes, hand crushed kasoori methi. Mix everything and let it simmer for 5 mins.
