Poori

Poori is a famous recipe in South Indian breakfast or dinner recipe. It is very light and airy in texture fried in hot oil. It is basically prepared during festival days or family functions.

Semolina is used here so that the poori remains in puffed form and crispy. Sugar is used for achieving golden color on its top.

Ingredients:

Total time taken : 15 minutes
Servings : 10 pooris
1. Wheat flour ( Atta ) - 1 cup
2. Sugar - 1/2 tsp
3. Salt - 1/2 tsp 
4. Oil - 1 tbsp
5. Semolina ( rava ) - 1 tsp
6. Water - for kneading
Method of preparation :
1. Take wheat flour in a bowl and add semolina, salt, sugar and oil to it.
2. Mix everything using hand so that the flour mixed completely with everything.
3, Add water little by little and form a tight dough.
4. Take the dough and roll it using both hands.
5. Cut equal balls out of the dough and roll everything into balls.
6. Drizzle little bit of oil over it and coat the balls.
7. Take a ball, pat it and roll it into a circle using a roller or poori press.
8. Take all the rolled dough in a plate.
9. Heat oil in a frying pan and put one rolled dough gently into it.
10. Slightly press it so that it puffed up nicely.
11. Flip over the poori on the other side and fry for few seconds.
12. Serve the hot poori with poori masala
