Simple toor dal curry | kids recipe

This is the gravy recipe for white rice with no spice in it. So it is kids friendly and it is popular in South Indian functions. It tastes delicious when ghee is added to it.
Servings : 3
Cooking time : 15 mins
Ingredients:
1. Toor dal - 5 tbsp
2. Salt - as required
3. Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
4. Castor oil - few drops
5. Curry leaves - few
6. Coriander leaves (chopped) - few
7. Vadagam (optional) - a pinch
8. Garlic (crushed) - 4 cloves
9. Cumin seeds - 1 tbsp
10. Ghee - as required

Method of preparation:
1. In a pressure cooker, take the toor dal with 1&1/2 glasses of water.
2. Add turmeric powder.
3. Add castor oil about 4-5 drops.
4. Visil for 2 visils or until the dal cooks completely.
5. Once the pressure releases, remove the lid and check whether the dal cooked well.
6. Add little water.
7. Add garlic, vadagam(optional), cumin seeds, curry leaves, coriander leaves.
8. Mash everything roughly and add required water and allow to boil until the raw smell of garlic goes off.
9. Add salt and boil until you reach the required consistency.
