Peas pulav

Peas pulav is one of the quick recipes for any occasion. It has richness in its taste because of the coconut milk used in it.

Ingredients:
Servings : 2
Time taken: 30 minutes
1. Ghee - 1 tbsp
2. Oil - 4 tbsp
3. Cinnamon stick - 1 inch
4. Cloves - 4
5. Cardamom - 3
6. Black stone flower - a pinch
7. Bay leaf - 1
8. Star anise - 1/4 flower
9. Green chillies - 3
10. Shallots (splitted) - 10no.
11. Lemon juice - 1 tbsp
12. Tomato (chopped) - 1no.
13. Peas - 1 cup
14. Coconut milk - 1 cup
15. Basmati rice - 1 cup
16. Briyani masala - 1 tbsp
17. Mint leaves - 1/4 cup

Method of preparation:
1. In a Pressure cooker, add oil and cinnamon stick, cloves, cardamom, star anise, marathi flower, bay leaf, black stone flower and green chillies.
2. Sauté for 2 mins and add shallots, mint leaves and ginger garlic paste. Sauté for 1 minute.
3. Add tomato. Sauté for a minute.
4. Add peas and mix it.
5. Add briyani masala powder. Give a mix.
6. Add strained rice and ghee. Mix for a minute.
7. Add coconut milk and mix it.
8. Add remaining water and salt. ( for 1 cup of rice, I added 1 cup of coconut water and 1 cup of normal water.)
9. For balancing the flavors, just squeeze a tbsp of lemon juice in it and keep for visil.
( I usually visil for two and switch it off).
10. Once the pressure releases completely, open the cooker and mix it. (tips: you can take out all the masala items you added initially. It will be there on the top of the cooker once you open it).
11. Let it set for a while and serve plain or with any curries!!

Notes:
1. If you don't have coconut water, don't worry. You can just use normal water in the place of coconut water ( in the ratio of 1:2 for rice and water).
