Tomato coriander chutney

Tomato coriander chutney is yet another chutney recipe with the freshness of tomato and coriander in it. 

It makes a perfect side dish for breakfast or dinner.

Coriander mint chutney

Ingredients:
Servings : 3
Cooking time : 15 minutes

1. Oil - 2 tbsp
2. Urad dal - 1&1/2 tsp
3. Garlic (chopped) - 4
4. Ginger (chopped) - 1/4 inch
5. Dry red chilly - 2
6. Tomato (chopped) - 2
7. Tamarind - a pinch (optional)
8. Coriander leaves (chopped) - 1/4 cup
9. Coconut (grated) - 1/4 cup
10. Mustard seeds - 1/2 tsp
11. Salt - as required
12. Chana dal - 1/2 tsp
13. Curry leaves - few

Method of preparation:
1. Heat a pan. Add oil and 1 tsp urad dal.
2. Add ginger, garlic, dry red chillies. Sauté for a minute.
2. Add tomato and tamarind. 
3. Add salt and cook until the tomatoes becomes mushy .
4. Add coconut and mix well.
5. Switch of the stove and add coriander leaves. Mix it.( The pan heat is enough for mixing coriander leaves).
6. Cool it and add it to mixer.
7. Grind into a required texture. ( I like it to be not so smooth!!)
8. Now for tempering, heat a pan and take oil, urad dal, mustard seeds and chana dal.
9. Wait until the mustard seeds splutters and dal becomes golden and add curry leaves.
10. Add to the chutney!!
